Is there a difference?

A pressure washer is categorized as a cold water machine that can be picked up at your local Hardware store. Yes, these machines work for some applications. For example, painters use them to remove excess dust after sanding.

The power washer is categorized as an industrial strength machine that has Regulated Temperature Control (RTC). In other words hot water. When washing everything from dishes to clothes, we all know that hot water cleans best. This applies to power washing as well. Unlike cold water systems, hot water systems power clean. Another big advantage of hot water cleaning is that it uses much less force, therefore minimizing the effect to the integrity of the surface being cleaned.
